Reminder for Sint Maarten: payment SZV Cessantia premium 2024

Before June 30, 2024, the Cessantia premium 2024 must be paid to the SZV in St. Maarten.

The Cessantia premium is ANG 40.00 per employee and the number of employees is based on the number of employees in service in December 2023. So for the correct number of employees, you should verify the SZV declaration of December 2023 and multiply this number of employees by ANG 40.00.

SZV Cessantia premium on Sint Maarten must be filed using the Cessantia declaration form and has to be paid to the SZV on the SZV Cessantia bank account number (see attachment). Please state with this payment your SZV- and CRIB number and ‘Cessantia premium 2024’.

A brief explanation of this premium. The Cessantia benefit to employees is primarily borne by the employer. Cessantia premium is a premium charged to the employer that is paid to supplement the Cessantia fund. The SVB uses this fund to pay the Cessantia benefits to which employees are entitled if their employer has been declared bankrupt and/or has been granted a moratorium on payments.
