It took a while, but in June 2023, the government determined the Income and wage tax tables 2022. In principle, more than 1.5 years too late.
Up to and including the time this blog was written, the Income and wage tax tables and fiscal allowances of 2021 were still applied in Celery in 2022 and in 2023.
The changes for 2022 are minor. The lowest tax bracket has increased by ANG 594 per year, the intermediate brackets are progressively increasing, and the highest bracket has increased by ANG 2,625 per year. The tax rates have otherwise remained the same as in 2021. Furthermore, in 2022 all fiscal allowances have increased by approximately 1.8%.
Given the fact that the 2021 tables and allowances have been applied in 2022 and in 2023 so far, it can be concluded based on the new 2022 tax table that employees paid too much wage tax in 2022 and 2023.
The Wage tax table in Celery has now been adjusted for the year 2022, and the same tax table will also be applied in 2023 from now on.
Now it remains to be seen when the tax tables for 2023 will be determined.
