As of September 1, 2021, the Vacation Ordinance has been amended in Aruba with regard to the minimum number of vacation days per year. This minimum number was 15 vacation days per year.
The formula for calculating the minimum vacation days per year will be as of September 1st:
- 3.3 * number of working days per week
For an employee with a five-day working week, the minimum number of vacation days per year will be:
- 3.3 * 5 = 16.5
For an employee with a six-day working week, the minimum number of vacation days per year will be:
- 3.3 * 6 = 19.8
The above formula also applies if the working hours have not been agreed in ‘working days’ but in working hours. The formula for the minimum number of vacation hours per year then becomes:
- 3.3 * the number of working hours per week
If you register the number of vacation days in Celery, you must adjust the accrual as of 1 September according to this amendment to the law. This can be done in the following ways:
When using only the payroll-module
You must enter the new number of vacation days entitlement per year per employee with effect from your first pay-run in September.
From that moment on, the periodic accrual will be calculated based on this new and higher number of days.
When using the HRM-module
