Important Update: Introduction of the Caribbean Guilder (XCG) and Its Impact on Celery Software

As of March 31, 2025, the new Caribbean Guilder (XCG) will be introduced as the official currency in Curaçao and Sint Maarten. This change will affect various aspects of our payroll and HRM software. Below, we inform you about the adjustments Celery is implementing to ensure a smooth transition.

Change of currency abbreviation
In all instances where the abbreviation ANG (Antillean Guilder) is currently used, this will change to XCG as of March 31, 2025. This adjustment ensures consistency with the new currency.

Invoicing in USD and XCG mention
Our invoicing is standardly done in US Dollars. Until now, the amount in Antillean Guilders was mentioned at the bottom of the invoice, using an exchange rate of 1.78. Starting March 31, 2025, this amount will be shown in Caribbean Guilders (XCG), with the same exchange rate of 1.78. The exchange rate remains unchanged.

3: Currency display on payslips
Employees who currently see the currency code ANG on their payslip will see the new currency abbreviation XCG as of March 31, 2025.

4: Adjustment in already generated documents
Celery will automatically switch to the new currency as of March 31, 2025. When documents generated before this date are opened after March 31, the currency will be retroactively updated from ANG to XCG, effective from January 1, 2025. This ensures uniformity within the current fiscal year 2025. The update will not affect items from 2024 and earlier.

5: Automatic software update
The introduction of the new currency and its implementation within our software will be updated on March 31, 2025, at 00:00 hours. This update will occur automatically; no action is required on your part. The update will be applied free of charge.
